Virtual Vari – A Step Towards Pandharpur

Walk with devotion. Walk together. Walk for Vitthal.

The Pandharpur Vari (Wari) is a centuries-old pilgrimage tradition of Maharashtra, where Warkaris walk towards Pandharpur with devotion to Lord Vitthal.

For those of us living away from Maharashtra, travelling to Pandharpur for the Vari is not always possible. To keep the spirit of this beautiful tradition alive within our community, Maharashtra Mandal Cambridgeshire (MMC) organises a Virtual Vari every year around Ashadhi Ekadashi.

Our 250 km Virtual Journey

Participants take up a 250 km walking challenge, inspired by the traditional Vari journey. The challenge begins around 10–15 days before Ashadhi Ekadashi, with the aim of completing 250 km by Ashadhi Ekadashi.

There is no fixed route or required daily distance. Everyone can walk at their own pace and convenience and record their daily distance in the MMC tracking sheet.

You can walk:

  • Around your neighbourhood or local parks
  • During your morning or evening walk
  • On a treadmill
  • With family and friends
  • Anywhere that is safe and convenient

Every kilometre counts and every step becomes part of our collective journey towards Vitthal.

Walk with Devotion

The MMC Virtual Vari is not a race or competition. It is an opportunity to stay active, connect with our community, remember the Warkari tradition, and dedicate our journey to Lord Vitthal.

Whether you walk a few kilometres each day or more, your participation adds to the spirit of our community Vari.

Mauli Mauli! 🙏
Jai Hari Vitthal! 🙏

Our Virtual Vari Journey

Each year, MMC participants come together to complete their Virtual Vari journey. The annual tracking sheets capture the enthusiasm, commitment, and participation of our community.
